Travel Visas and Red Tape
There are three types of visas that travellers to France can apply for. These are: student visas, long-stay visas, and work permit visas. Before your trip, you have to find out if you need one, which one you need, and what documents will help you get one.
French Visa
It is a good idea to call your local French consulate first to get some preliminary information like what hours are they open, what documents do you have to bring, and so on. Make sure to set an appointment if one is required, or to come early if you have to queue. A useful tip to remember is that you must try to exceed any minimum requirements asked for.
